Creature

Kappa, Jinmenju, Atzuki, Kobozu, Dorotabo, Fusuma, Kamikiri.
These are just a few of the Japanese monsters named in a collection of illustrations
and fables from which this work draws inspiration. Old popular beliefs, strange
facts, apparitions, ghoulish tales handed down through the generations to our
times, often invested with great credence on the part of the population.
From these stories, I have recreated a sound environment of abstract paths, fantastic meetings, and imaginary spaces where the Creature appear as bizarre figures. Electronic music between ambient music, artificial soundscapes and visual sounds that transmits sensations of astonishment, fright, danger, embarrassment, sweetness, curiosity and amusement.
Creature is my most recent project and is constantly evolving. One of my goals is to seek out other artists to collaborate on combining images and texts.
The monsters are not bad. They are simply grotesque caricatures that often have an instructional function.
